An amazing architecturally-designed, waterfront home. No doubt about it, the styling of this property had to focus on the view. A bit of background - the clients had not updated some of their furniture since the new build and did not want to purchase anything expensive at this point. They were empty nesters keen to downsize. However, I needed the space to feel fresh, modern and befitting its premier location. There needed to be an element of luxe, this was not your ordinary home! The compromise was adding new cushions and new rugs - within budget - to rejuvenate the living spaces and update existing furniture. I took my colour cues from a set of my client's tumblers! The new soft furnishings were in muted, watercolour shades, serving to heighten the sense of location and adding an element of sophistication. I removed bulky, black leather lounges in the first living space as they were, quite simply, obstructing the view! They ended up being appropriately located in the media room. A tired wooden coffee table was painted white, providing the room with an instant facelift. Strategically positioned indoor greenery was the final touch. It's amazing what small, affordable changes can do to a space! The end result - sold before auction at a new suburb record, clients (and agent) were ecstatic!
