A picture says 1000 words. But in case you need words, here they are... This was home to a very busy family with three teenage kids. You could just see life happening everywhere around you - from the abundance of books on the shelves to the two labradors making themselves comfortable on the lounge. The owners had every intention of renovating parts of the house but did not get around to it. The time came to sell, and fast. My job was to create a comfortable family home and distract the buyer from any sore points. I changed the furniture layout in the living room, created a dining room adjacent to the kitchen, shuffled the owner's artwork around and purchased new cushions to spruce up the lounge. Dictated by the outdoor lounge suite (one of which I brought indoors!), I went with a black and white colour scheme, complemented by neutral accents here and there. I made sure to utilise my client's decor and accessories where possible, only introducing my own props if required. New and affordable pendant lights were installed to great effect, unifying the living and dining rooms and instantly adding a contemporary touch to the interior. Surfaces were decluttered of any unnecessary items. Open shelving housing kitchen pots and pans was softened by the addition of baskets and boxes. The end result - a welcoming family home that captured the imagination of the buyer. It sold before auction to the happiest of clients!
